One of the coziest hotels in Minas Gerais, Hotel Pousada do Arcanjo preserves the most important memory of the history of old Vila Rica, old Minas Gerais Province and Brazil: the Minas colonial conspiracy plot, known as Inconfidencia Mineira. The visitor seems to go back in time to feel some of the atmosphere of the eighteenth century, recollecting this story of old colonial Vila Rica.

The guest rooms are named after the patriotic characters who were involved with the conspiracy plot, like the lovely Marilia de Dirceu, the poetic Thomaz Antonio Gonzaga and the dedicated Barbara Eliodora.

Inside chambers, a framed panel describes the character and his or her role in the most important episode in colonial Brazil, which later led to its independence from Portugal.

Reverence

The hotel staff is courteous and helpful and the front desk team is dressed in time costumes, 18th-century style, so being the first historic-theme hotel in Minas Gerais. The emphasis is on personalized service.
